Alissa at 8 months!

My how time flies! I can't, as usual, believe my baby girl is 8 months, but, my how she is changing!!!! I weighed her on my scale at 18lbs! She has both of her bottom teeth, lunging is her method of crawling still and she is starting to pull up on things! When she does however, she gets a little too excited and sometimes falls or climbs up and then stands in her tip toes! She's still so loud and has definitely been figuring out that her little attitude gets her attention! She is STILL getting up once at night and because I love my sleep, either I or Aaron get up to feed her and ahe will take between 6-8 ounces. She loves her table food and has started to refuse bottles during the day because of it! She has started dancing when she hears music and had clapped her bands a few times! She's learning so fast and growing so much! Time is flying by and it needs to slow down! I'm really making an effort to soak up and enjoy every day with her, even when she's crazy and frustrating. Before I know it, she'll be 4 years old like her big brother...and I don't even want to think about how old JJ will be! :-)

Several posts in one!

So back in November, my computer broke... Brandon, my brother in law worked on it for a while, but I have yet to buy the part to fix it. But I digress!

It appears that the last time I posted anything was a whopping 4 months ago! My sweet baby was 3 months, JJ just had a birthday, the holidays came and went etc! This post will be a long one! So bare with me! :-)

December 2013:

JJ and Alissa visited with Santa! My neighbor  dresses up every year! He went to the model home for all the kids to come and visit! JJ figured out pretty quickly that he wasn't the real deal, but he was a trooper and went with it!  The kids colored pictures, and had cookies ! It was a great time!

This is Alissa at 4 months old! At 4 months, if I can remember correctly, she weighed 15lbs 1ounce, she was rolling pretty well, still being swaddled at night and waking up twice at night. She was still being swaddled and I hated every minute of it! Swaddling got on my nerves and I'm pretty sure she hated it too. She wanted to be on her tummy and simply couldn't with the swaddle.

We had the 4th annual cookie night at my dad and step moms house again this year!  It's always nice to get together with my brother and sisters!

Christmas was it's usual whirlwind day! It was awesome! We had Danielle for the first time this year! JJ opened all his gift and loved everything he got! I didn't get nearly the amount of photos and video I wanted but I got a few!  Next year will be great once Alissa somewhat understands what's going on!

For New Year's Eve, we just stayed in! I'm sorry but a baby doesn't understand what sleeping in means so we rand in the new year and went to bed! Haha! Give me a few years and maybe I'll do something fun for New Year's Eve!

Alissa is 5 months! Chick is rolling around all the time!  We finally stopped swaddling her and she seemed to be ok with the transition.  It took her a bit to fall asleep at first on the first night but after that, she was good!  I figured out why her cheeks were always rosy and realized it was eczema! Just like her brother! I got that under control and now her cheeks are soft and kissable! No 6th month post... I forgot about it and there wasn't much to report. Other than she started scooting!  She's getting pretty quick!

A couple weeks after I got back from Kansas City, Aaron and I took JJ to spend the day in Chicago! Aaron was already up that way for business so on Friday afternoon, I took JJ and we drove up to meet him! After we checked into the hotel, we went to Navy Pier to Build-a-bear! I got a deal on Zulily several weeks prior and figured what better time to use it! He built a rainbow bear and picked out an iron man costume! He also put a "sound" in his bear. It's a laughing sound!  Once we left we went to dinner at the rainforest cafe! JJ loved that place! There were col anamatronic animals, aquariums and a bunch of stuff to look at! For dessert we ordered this brownie and ice cream that had a lit sparkler! It was so good and way too expensive! We left the restaurant and headed back to the hotel! JJ called it our bedroom!  If anyone needs a really nice and affordable hotel in Chicago, stay at the Hilton Chicago! I have a phobia of hotels 3 stars and under... I know that sounds awful but seriously, you get what you pay for and this is the 3rd time I've stayed here! Plus it's really close to a lot of the attractions and of course the lake!

We got home and that must have triggered something in our immune systems because Alissa started teething  and got a kittle head cold. JJ also got a head cold, and finally I got one that turned into a sinus infection. I finished my prescription and 2 days later came down with the flu. I was finally given Tamiflu after my test came back positive....that was the worst test EVER!!!!!!!!  I was starting to feel better but about 2 days later in the middle of the night, my fever spiked and I felt even worse than before. I also had pink eye...UGH!!!! My sister decided to leave work early and told me to go to the ER. I did and after a chest X-ray, they told me I had pneumonia. I didn't see it as a big deal, but when the doc came in and told me, she said people in our age group who have the flu and get pneumonia, are the ones who have been becoming really sick and dying... I'd like to think that wouldn't have happened but I guess you never know.  Anyway, I'm finally off all my prescriptions. And feeling so much better!

Alissa is 7 months!!!!!!  A few days after  Alissa turned 7 months, she got her first tooth! She was only cranky the day before it poked through the gums!!! She is such a happy baby! She STILL wakes up once at night, but will randomly sleep through the night. She is scooting all over the place and getting into things she shouldn't! Yesterday we got her photos taken! I must say, after a depressing newborn session and a decent family session that I only ended up with 1 photo of Alissa that I didn't love, I felt like she deserved her own session! She did so well! Sat up nicely and smiled a lot!!!! I'm in love with the photos and so happy! Finally!!!!

Roller Skating

We went to the skating rink this weekend for a birthday party and JJ had a blast!  It was his first time so he had to use something to help him keep his balance!  It was so cute to see him try!

My 'little' brother trying to help!

After we got home, we had some hot chocolate!  This too was JJ's first time trying it!  And because he's my kid, he's got my sweet tooth!

Alissa, 3 Months!

.....I don't want my baby to be 3 months... I can't believe she is 3 months!!!  Refer back to my 1 and 2 month post about here and my feelings are the exact same and maybe worse! LOL!  She is currently wearing size 2 diapers, some 0-3 and 3-6 month clothing.  She is still eating 4oz bottles every 2-2 1/2 hours and naps 2-3 times a day.  She goes to bed between 6:30 and 7pm and will sleep until 2:30 or 3:30 but has been surprising me lately and sleeping until 5:30am before waking up to eat!  She hasn't rolled over yet, but seems to be getting close and if she's doing something she doesn't want to be doing, like laying in her swing or on her playmat, she will make it known!  She. Is. Loud!  I never imagined I would love having a little girl as much as I do! She is amazing!!!

She was being a very uncooperative little girl while trying to get this photo! This is the best one I got!

Happy 4th Birthday JJ!

How did I get old enough to have a 4 year old and how did I not notice time flying by like it was?!?!?  This boy is crazy!  He is full of energy and always wants to make people laugh!  He has a major attitude and sometimes I can't even believe the things he says!  It's un-explainable! He says stuff that I would think teenagers would say.  Lord help me when he's a teenager!  Lately we have been working on opposites and writing his letters in a more organized way!  I've also been trying to help him learn sounds of letters, not just the easy ones!  He still knows a lot of signs too!  About 40!  I'll update his stats when we go to the doctor!

Update! We went to the doctor today and JJ weighs 34lbs and is 39 inches tall. That puts him at a measly 22% for height and 33% for weight! My fear that he will take after his dad's side of the family is coming true... Aaron's grandmother and great aunt are 4'11" and 2 cousins are maybe 5'5"...

JJ's theme was Angry Birds!  I found, on pinterest, this idea of using building blocks to create a stand for the cupcakes that look like the structure the angry birds sit on!

Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween came and went and then we went trick or treating!  We just went up and down our street.  Alissa  did so well considering it was cold and it was her bedtime!  JJ got...enough candy and then finished off the night handing out hand fulls of candy to the other trick-or-treaters!  At one point, he was out jumping up and down in the driveway yelling "we have tons of candy!!!"  It was so cute!

My little cupcake!

Gosh they look so alike here!

Halloween fun!!!

This year, Bev was gracious enough to have playgroup at her house and had a few activities for the kids to do!  They decorated cookies, played a game (JJ didn't play), and we even got a few pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes!

One of my favorite photos from the day!

Thursday, since the weather was awful and we couldn't go trick-or-treating, I decided to make cookies and let JJ decorate them!  He had a blast!
